passport renewal @ NY consulate

Can n e one share with me their experiance on renewing passport by mail frm NY embassy?? How long will it take? its nearly 2 weeks since i mailed it and have opted for return by express mail but havent yet received it.

Y do u say that. i'm now getting more worried. i have to apply for an italian visa soon as it takes 3 weeks for that to come.

E-mail / Call

I've known people's experiences to be great, in the past. Once when someone had sent an e-mail to Indian consulate a few days after applying for a new passport, they wrote back that the passport was already done and in the mail!

Try calling them or e-mail and see what happens.

Now, here's the catch, if you do have problems and do not get responses, make sure you post your complaints very strongly against them and write a letter to Consul General of India in US with a copy to your local U.S. representative.

If more and more people start doing this, the services will definitely improve.

THANK GOD & INDIAN CONSULATE NY!!!! I got my PP renewed and received it by express mail in excat 2 weeks.
Had to have some patience before i opened this thread
