  • Visitor Visa or PIO

    Hi,

I am H1-b employee and my wife is on H4. My daughter was born here and we recieved her us passport. I had a few questions to ask about indian visa and pio.

I have about 3 more years on my H1 and since my company does not sponser GC, i would be returning back home. In that case, i need advice on what is best suitable for my daughter...having a visitor visa for the present and apply for PIO when i return to India permanently or do i apply for PIO right away.

since PIO is valid for 15 years and renewable after that, if i take it at the time of my permanent departure to India, will that be a good way of using the validity of 15 years or do i apply for the PIO right now.

Since i would in all probability be here for another couple of years, having a visitor visa is suitable or not..

i am not able to make a choice. Please help.

    thanks
    Kalyan

Its a good idea to take POI asap. Since your company is not sponsoring GC and if they give you a great opportunity to relocate to India (match your pay here and pay for all relocation) then its good to have the PIO handy at that time.
