OCI and Asylum

Hi,

I came here in 92 and seeked asylum. Now i am a citizen and would like to apply for OCI. Can anyone tell me if I will be granted the OCI? I am afraid that I will be denied. Any suggestions?

looks like you took political asylum accusing india of torture and harrassment in the times of khalistan etc, if that is the case they you let your country down including all of us who are indians, i know some such people in europe who did the same thing and gave my country a bad name and publicity for their narrow economic gains

this can be an issue but since india is a very forgiving country you can try

OCI and Asylum

First of all, you have let your country down by coming here and abondoning your country. Second you have no rights to judge other people. If you wife was raped or your husband was tortured and killed, I wonder if you would feel safe in that place. Now, I don't wan't to get into that argument about our broken system in India. It's a democracy and everyone has a right to express themselves. I don't blame all indians becuase if one person is wrong does not mean I have to stereotype all population, which you did by pointing Khalistan. It's unfortunate you think this way and it will take us another century or two to attain civilization.

asylum

Allowing my writ petitions, Delhi High Court passed an order thereby setting aside the orders of passport authority putting the passport of the petition under PAC category for five years for applying political asylum in a foreign country. This judgment would bring relief to thousand of applicants especially from Punjab who cannot apply for passport for 5 years as they had applied for political asylum in a foreign country. rule of law prevails.
