your website has been extremely helpful regards OCI. One question I have asked the Indian High Commission and which they can't for some reason give me a straight answer is :
I am applying for OCI under my fathers eligibility for Indian citizenship. However my father does not have his original / old Indian passport. Nor does he have a birth certificate to prove he was born in India. I have been guided by the OCI desk that I need a First Class magistrate certificate that certifies that the information I am giving is valid.
Now I am assuming this is a form or a certificate with a name / number or some other reference to it which I can use when I go to India to get it. How do I ensure that the magistrate is a First class magistrate? Can you please help me figure this out.
