Hi,

My son's passport will be expired on 3rd Dec, 2007. I want to renewal his passport.

To do the same which one is the suitable application form needs to be filled?

is he (7 years old) required to sign in the application form?

Now we are in USA.

What is the exact procedure needs to be followed?

You can get the application and all instructions from your nearest Indian consulate. You can download them and print them from the consulate's web site.

If your son is able to sign, he needs to. We did a passport for our newborn daughter with her fingerprint instead, and it was accepted.

The parents also must sign a no-objection letter.

Besides that, you need to submit passport photos of the boy, notarised copies of the child's birth certificate and parents' passports, and the required fees.

Since the passport is expiring soon, you don't have time to do it by mail. You need to go to the consulate in person and point out that the old passport is expiring soon. They should be able to help you.
