Hello,
My parents were immigrants in Australia, and got Australian citizenship while they were there. They returned to India in the 70s, and after that neither of them have renewed their passports or got a new visa to stay in India as they never left the country. They now want to travel abroad - they have their Australian passports renewed but we'd like to get the PIO. Wondering how this can be done without a FRRO registration / visa. Could we pay a fine and get it done? What are the other options?
