Name change

Hello sir/mam,

I am a Graduate student on F1 visa studying in Chicago. I have a Visa valid till 2012 and the passport is valid till 2010. I wish to change my name on the passport and Visa stamping as it is too lengthy and gets complicated everywhere.

Please let me know the procedure to get a new passport issued with the same Visa stamping on it.

1. You need to contact an attorney to get your name changed. It is a lenghty procedure.

2. You need to apply for new passport at Indian consulate.

3. You need to go for new visa stamping.
