Change of Address

Hello Sir,

I am a medical graduate from New delhi.I had gone to usa a few days ago on B-1 valid for 3 months(nov 2007 to jan 2008). On my passport I 've given my college hostel address but now I have finished my course at my college in april 2008 and no longer living in hostel(since april 2008). However,I am stying in delhi only with my local guardians but my permanent home address is in MADHYA PRADESH which comes under Mumbai consular district. Now I will be going again to usa next month(in August 2008) for which I'll be applying for new usa visa,B-1. Should I change my address on passport or should I apply for fresh visa like this? Where should I apply for my visa,ie New delhi or Mumbai? Do i need to produce any additional documents?

You don't have to change the address in passport. If your current visa is still valid, you can travel on that. Otherwise, you can go to US embassy in New Delhi as you are staying there.

Thanks a lot for the advice,my visa has expired so I will have to apply for the fresh one......just one more query.....do I have to produce any document proof showing that I am staying with my local guardians in new delhi and not at the address on my passport(which is also of new delhi but having my hostel address and I have finished my course at the college) during my visa interview?

Yes, you need to show the proof of your current residence.
