  • Vailidity of PIO card for an infact

    Hi,

My son and wife are Brazilian citizens. and we live in India.

Now that son is nearing two years we are appling for a PIO card for them both, this is being done in Brazil (Sao Paulo).

However, my sons passport will expire in 6 months ...... what do we do... do we first get him a new passport (which will be valid for 5 yrs i guess) and then apply for PIO or is there a possibility of updating the info in the PIO when changes to passport are made. I guess which way would be less time consuming and costly,

    thanks a lot

If the passport expires after getting PIO card, once you get new passport, you can get the passport number updated by paying $25.
