Dear Sirs,
I am a British Diplomat serving at the British High Commission in New Delhi. My tour is finishing in October and I intend to take my maid back to the UK to continue her employment with me. She has previously travelled with me to Thailand and Malaysia for short visits and has obtained clearance from the Protector General of Immigrants. Does she require clearance now to come and work for me in the United Kingdom? Her passport is endorsed ECR. My reading of your guidance suggests that she does not require clearance, is that correct?
I should be grateful if you could confirm whether she needs clearance or not as we are due to travel in three weeks time.
