Indian Passport -Change DOB

Dear Sir,

Could you kindly let me know as to what documents I need to provide in order to change the date of birth of my son on his passport. He is minor. The web site says - "It requires a court order issued from the first class rank Magistrate in India." I wanted to confirm myself before I apply for it. Also, please let me know that if the required document can be produced, can the amendment in the passport be done here in the UK through Indian High Commission - Passport services?

Is the date of birth in the birth certificate correct? Or is that wrong too?

I'm facing the same problem too.. DOB is correct in my birth cerificate, also I got it changed in my school certificate recently.. can someone please guide me through the procedures to get it corrected in my passport ?

Did you have any luck finding the information about the steps involved in changing the DOB. I am in a similar situation and had my family inquire with a local agent(private passport business guy) yesterday. They mentioned something very similar about using the help of a lawyer/advocate and getting it adjudicated in a local court(muncipal court).
If you have any additional input please share. Is there any way we can contact the regional passport office in India?

Also did you know how long the process takes normally ?

My brother is in India and he is suffring from the same situation and want to change the d.o.b. in the passport.his date of birth on the birth certificate is correct and someone told him that he needs to take court's order and for how long it takes for this procedure .some people say that it takes about three years its such a long time.we cant wait for that long time .can anyone suggest us pls that how much we will have to pay and how long it takes?
