Passport Expiring

Hi All,

My Indian passport is expiring next month and i am presently out of status. In next one year i will be getting my status back. Can any one please advice if i can lay low and apply for new passport after i come back to status.

Confusion!!!

Are you actually out of status? Meaning has your visa expired and you do not have any new petition approved for an extension/renewal?

Just the expiration of your passport does not mean you are out of status.

If you are out of status as per US visa laws, you're in big trouble anyway and need to immediately leave the country.

No, you cannot "lay low" , you need your passport to be valid if you are living in United States and are on a valid visa.
