Need help regarding PIO card and OCI card application

Hi,
We are planning to go back to india with our daughter in Jan End and we have already applied for U.S passport for our daughter.
We were told that the passport will be issued in 10 days and now we have to apply for the PIO card for our daughter.

I have the following questions:-
1) Can we apply for OCI and PIO card at the same time? If the PIO card is delayed and since our travel is near, we can travel using the OCI card or Indian Visa.
2) If both cannot be applied at the same time, can we travel using VISA and apply for the PIO card from India?
3) What is the processing time if we apply for PIO card from India?

Unless you, yourself ...

... are an United States citizen you cannot apply for OCI.

If you are, then yes you can apply for PIO and OCI together, its just your money, Indian government doesn't care about it.

Timelines vary drastically from any known posted information due to a varierty of reasons.

Ideally you can apply for a visitor visa, go to India and then apply for OCI from there, that would save you some frustration.

can i apply pio card from india while travelling with indian visa. if so will there not be a problem if her visa expires

in the pio application they have asked for thumb impression for applicants below 18 who cannot sign but my daughter is just 2 months old and her thumb is very tiny for thumb impression what to do?
