Address was not correct while renewing passport

Hi,

I have recently renewed my passport (as my old passpoing is going to expire soon).

I have received my new passport (renewed) yesterday, but the Permanent Address mentioned was not correct, i have typed wrong house#.

Can anyone tell me what is the procedure to update this ? I do not have any indian address proof.

Please guide me asap.

Are you in US? If so, contact the consulate. The Misc services form along with $20 or 25 will take care of the correction. It is a non-issue unless you are very particular about it.

Yes I am in US. Most of the time the chicago consulate does not pickup the call.

No point in calling as it is never answered. You could possibly stand a better chance to win a jackpot in a casino than have someone pick up the phone.

Use the Misc services form or drop in if you are close by.
