Money Order Not cashed

It has been almost 6-7 days when Houston received Priority mail of my OCI forms. Money orders has not been cashed yet. Any idea how long it took for you guys for money order to be cash. I used MoneyGram.

Another problem is UPPS priority was delivered when it was Holi vacation for Houston embassy. I am wondering who accepted mail that day?

I wouldn't be too concerned about it yet. The Houston site quotes 12 weeks processing time for OCI, and they may not have got to yours after such a short time.


As for who received mail that day -- unless you sent it with signature required, it would have been placed in their mailbox or delivered the next working day.

It was a priority with tracking number. Typically should we sent with signature request?

Only issue I have is I have to travel in June and making sure they got everything correct. I am worried for MOneyGram typically that get cashed within week.

I wouldn't bother with a signature request -- I didn't with my PIO application. Is there a time limit on the MoneyGram? I don't know anything about them.

As for traveling in June, you're probably taking a chance on timing -- if your application arrived mid-March, 12 weeks would take you to mid-June. You may want to make other visa arrangements to ensure you're able to travel this time.

It has been over two week now but MoneyGram has not been cashed. Do you think they do not touch OCI file for almost 15 days?
