One of my friend was arguing with me that it makes no sense to apply for OCI for a US born child since this make create complications later on life when he or she has to apply for federal jobs. He said it makes perfect sense to apply for PIO for the child, since PIO details need not be disclosed on application form whereas OCI details have to be mentioned.

Please clarify if this true and if anyone else has any further information on this.

    Thanks,

That makes absolutely no sense at all. They would have absolutely no bearing on the US citizenship and would definitely not impact your child's prospects. I hope this helps.

    Thanks.

OCI is not dual citizenship. With OCI, you don't get Indian passport, you can't vote in India etc. Therefore, OCI is not dual citizenship. OCI holders are not Indian citizens.

OCI is just greencard, or you can say life long visa to live and work in India.

I have a friend who is in high position in Finance department in a federal job. He is of Indian origin, is US citizen and has OCI.
