Travel to India with a US citizen child who has valid Indian visa on old Passport

Due to some emergency we need to travel to India with my 6 year old child who has got a new US passport, but his valid Indian visa has not been transferred to the new US passport. The travel visa site says, it is recommended, but not mandatory.
Has anyone traveled to India in a similar situation ? Will I have trouble if we travel without transferring the visa? Please help.

Just carry both the passports. No problem.

If you take the old passport (with valid visa) won't be an issue. I never tranferred the visa to the new passport for my kids.
