OCI - U Sticker

My (family) OCI application is granted and the documents are received by the mission. My daughter's passport is expiring in a week. In another couple months my wife's passport is expiring. What's the best way to go:
Can I renew the passport and go for the U sticker? Which passport they need to paste the sticker? Please help. We plan to travel in July to India.

I suggest that you renew the passports and get the sticker affixed on the new passports.
