OCI and federal Jobs

OCI card holders will get OCI sticker in their U.S. passports.I read in this forum that U.S. Citizens having OCI stciker in their passpost might get denied for federal / U.S. high secuirty jobs. Is that true ? Could anyone share their knowledge / experiences in regards to this as I am planning to apply OCI for our family and don't want run jeopardize my son's future if he wants to get into Federal job in U.S.

With the current atmosphere, it is difficult to forecast any outcome. Yes as a prospective employee one has to show the Naturalization Certificate. During the security clearance process the agency will obtain details of the passport. Your son will have to provide the agency the details. If your son is looking for TS, I would suggest you OPT OUT of the OCI. Having a visitor visa is not considered a negative - based on personal experience. However, yourself and your son need to brace for a detailed investigation before any clearance is adjudicated. You are the best person to judge what is good. I just narrated my experience. Another consideration is how many of the federal jobs require a 'high' security clearance (whatever that means) and if that's a major impediment. I have to think that it would be a fairly small group of positions compared to the large number of federal jobs.

You don't mention your son's age, but unless his applying for a security clearance is imminent, it may not be that big of a deal, particularly if he's a US citizen by birth.

OCI sticker is nothing but life long U-visa. It is just a visa sticker and clearly states 'VISA' in big letter.

Therefore, in my opinion, it does not matter.
