Renewal of indian passport

Hi,

I am currently in US. My passport, issued in India, is expiring in July this year. I am applying for renewal of my passport. My question is regarding the "Address to be Printed on Passport". I read on your site that this should be the Indian Address.
If my address in India has changed from that shown in the current passport, can I mention the new address in the renewal form? If so, do I need to provide any proofs for that?

No proofs required if you are getting it changed when you apply for a new passprt..
