Passport renewal

Hello

I applied for renewal of my son's passport from the DC area in Nov. They had asked for few other documents which i sent by end of Dec. i have not received my son's passport yet.

All my attempts to call the number in DC have failed. We are planning to go to India end of this month?

How long does it take for them to send the passport after renewal?

If I go to Indian embassy personally will it help?
What is the procedure if I go there to find out about my son's passport?

Please please any help or experience would be appreciated...

Same Boat

I am in the same boat. You atleast got a response back from them requesting more information. I did not get any response since I have submitted my passport for renewal to NY on 11-02-09.

I think your visit would definetly help to expedite the process.
