PIO Card Validity

hi All,

They say that PIO card is valid only with a valid passport.

Is PIO card only need for travel purpose or is it need to continue stay in India?

For e.g. say passport of my kid expires while we are in India and I do not get it renewed for couple of years. Can my Kid still continue staying in India without any issues?

A valid PIO card (or visa) AND valid passport are required for foreigners to stay in India. You can easily renew your daughter's US passport in India. The new passport information can be entered in the PIO booklet by the MHA.
