  • PIO for American wife and kids

Hi, I've read the eligibility requirements for PIO, but could not find anything that addressed my circumstances specifically, so I am posting here to know if:

My US born wife and kids are eligible for PIO cards.
    Any special documentation is required.
There is any general advice for someone in my circumstances.

I have an Indian Passport and a Green Card, and have lived in the US for 20+ years. Now my wife and twin sons (US citizens) will settle with me in India where I plan to live, work and school our children for a few years. We plan to leave end of May 2010 (consulate in SF processes PIO apps in 15 days).

Thanks in advance for your responses-

Yes, all of them can apply for PIO card.

If your wife is of Indian origin, proof of that is required. Otherwise, your marriage certificate is required.

As you're applying to the SF consulate, check this and other threads about the SF requirement to 'apostille' the US passport, which is not required by the other US consulates and provokes lots of questions. Search the site on 'apostille SF consulate' for more...
