Dear Sir/Madam:
I’m writing to you from Kerala.
This is with regards to a PIO Application that has been sent to the FRRO at Delhi on Feb 22nd for which there is no proof that it has reached the destination.
I was looking up the net on how to trace the application and it led me to your helpful site and I must say I was so very relieved to find that you can surely help me out with this problem!
On this past February 22, 1010, my son had mailed a filled up application for PIO along with a DD for an amount of Rs. 7500 to the FRRO office at Delhi, via Speed Post. But when I checked with my bank yesterday – March 30, 2010- the DD has not yet been cleared! Which is worrying me because I believe the application has not reached the FRRO Office.
Can you please help me know the following:
1. If this delay of a month in clearing of the DD is normal?
2. How can we trace the application or find out if the office has received it?
3. If the application is indeed lost, what do I do next?
My son recently tried to write an entrance exam and was denied the opportunity because he didn’t have the PIO Card. And I find that he will need it to apply to a few colleges here in Kerala and this is the time that the applications have to be sent!.. therefore I hope you will treat this request of mine as an emergency and help me find a way out!
Hope to hear from you as soon as you possibly can
