  • US Passport - Indian Entry visa - extension needs to be stamped on passport?

    Hi,

My daughter is US born so has US passport. She is on Entry visa. We both have Indian passports. We extended her stay twice. Both times, it was a rubber stamp on the certificate of registration, with the new dates.

We need to go back to US. Question is, is the stamp on registration paper sufficient? Or should the stamp be on the passport also?

(I have applied for PIO 6 months back but haven't received it yet, so she is still only on visa)

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Please reply!

Please reply to the question! I am very confused, and don't want to face any problems at the airport when going to US.

The foreigners registration officer had hinted that he wants some bribe. He had asked "tell your husband to get a mobile phone for me when he comes back to India" to which she had replied that her husband is in India only on a transfer so she came alone. Then he had told something like "I have put the stamp on the certificate. When you people have to go to US, come again and I will put the stamp on passport also".
Please help, and let me know if the rubber stamp for extension is needed on passport also!
