The idiotic clowns at CKGS managed to lose my passport.
In early March right before the Pandemic was officially announced, I needed my passport renewed urgently and applied for Tatkal renewal.
However, due to the Pandemic, this was delayed by over 3 months.
In the mean time, I had moved residences and sent multiple emails to CKGS informing them of this and asking them what the procedure to update the address was.
For 6 weeks, there was ZERO response from them.
3 Weeks ago, they finally responded saying they dispatched my passport and gave me a tracking number. They managed to ignore my several emails informing them of the address change and sent it to the wrong address.
I have been spending the last 3 weeks trying to get in touch with them (they have been ignoring all my emails/calls) and checking if UPS or my previous residence management/neighbors have the package. No one has the package and it seems to be completely lost or stolen by someone.
The worst part is that my previous passport which had my valid H1B visa is lost too and I can't leave the country even if they give me a new passport.
CKGS responded today saying that there is nothing they can do and they I should contact UPS.
If I apply for a new passport, I do not want to pay the same fees again since CKGS was responsible for losing my passport.
What should I do? This is so messed up, given the current climate around H1Bs, I'm not sure what the process is like for getting my new passport stamped.
I am extremely frustrated at how CKGS has been handling this and I would like to escalate this to someone who actually has a shred of responsibility. Who should I get in touch with?
