US passport stuck with CKGS

I applied for new OCI last month with CKGS San Francisco. They asked me to apply for renunciation certificate since I do not have the correct cancelled stamp on Indian passport .
i have abandoned my OCI application. It has been a month but CKGS has not returned my US passport. I have written several emails to their help desk but no reply.
Any suggestions on what to do next?

Did you login to your reference id and send a message from CKGS website. If not, try that. Also, try calling. Keep trying. Good luck.

Yes I have emailed them thrice already but no response . The numbers listed on the website are not working - the message says number unallocated .

If you login to the CKGS with your web reference number you will be able to send them a message. That is what I was asking. Not an email to CKGS.

Hi Neera. Did your issue get resolved?
CKGS has not been responding to my queries either. They are giving out the wrong phone numbers in the auto-generated emails and their call centers are down as well. The Indian Embassy hasn't provided a useful solution either. I have to mail my passport to them but I am super skeptical considering shoddy service. Although I don't seem to have any other option either I guess.
