Looking for someone with similar experience here.
I submitted my passport renewal application @CKGS NY location. The renewal process steps went smooth and I finally see the status that CKGS application center received my passport and it is at the Sorting Facility. This status was updated on Aug-19th.
However, the exception in my case is that I was unable to use the CKGS shipping option online while submitting my application (I live on a brand new street address that did not pull up correctly on the CKGS application) so I had to resort to using my own shipping option. I sent in a UPS prepaid envelope along with my application and updated the Airway Bill details online per the process.
With someone using the CKGS shipping option, the status gets updated the same day or within 24 hours to "Passport picked up by UPS/FedEx" but it my case it has been > 48 hours with no update (last checked Aug-21 at 4.30 PM EDT).
If anyone used their own shipping label in the past for their passport renewal, PIO or OCI, do I have to inform UPS to pick up my passport (since I already have the prepaid envelope sent in with the application) from the CKGS NY location? I am trying to understand how that process works and any help will be greatly appreciated if someone had a similar situation.
