Look at the section where it says you have no passport under 'Documents'
        section.

That is the best I can tell you.

If that does not work, try contacting the consulate.

I talked to USCIS department. According to them you can submit G-639 FOIA form (Freedom for information act). The form and filing instruction is available at following web site. They should be able to locate and send the Indian passport information which was filled in US citizenship application.

          /show-form/g-639

          Good Luck.

            Renunciation certificate

Today, I went in person to Chicago to get my Renunciation Certificate with all the documents. When I approached the counter to get token/number get it processed, I was asked to provide my un-cancelled indian passport and US passport. He verified it, saw that I had a visa, and right then and there stamped 'Cancelled as holder has acquired foreign citizenship ' and said you are done...He did not give me a certificate of any sort.

Has anyone come across this scenario? Is it valid? I think I did fill in a renunciation form when I acquired for my Visa couple of years back.. Is that why they didn't require to go thru all the copies of documents etc..? Any clue anyone?

I just want to make sure that this process is done and confirm that the renunciation is done.

            Thanks,

            -Sreeni

              Default Renunciation of Indian Passport

i became a citizen over 30 years ago and i had lost my Indian passport. i recently went to the Indian consulate office in Houston along with 2 application documents, 1 copy of US naturalization certificate, 1 copy of US passport and 1 copy of Indian Visa on the US passport, a copy of police report (stating that i had lost my passport) and a copy of notarized document stating that i had lost the indian passport, 1 copy of birthday certificate from India (original and a english translated copy). When i approached the counter, the person behind the counter said that since i don't have a passport and i'm not surrendering anything, i don't have to do it. I went again few weeks later and i got the same respond from another consulate person stating that without the passport i'm NOT required to apply for the renunciation of indian passport.

I checked online but there is nothing that could dispute that.. So little help would be appreciated.

              Thank you
