OCI application - US passport return

In some locations, it can take over a week from that notification to get US passport back. You should expect the passport sometime this week. Don't worry.

I might try calling them. Hopefully will get some answer before they start charging me. btw, did they use the return label you sent them? My return labels have no update which made me think that they havent shipped it yet

Great, VFS will use the label you sent them for sending your OCI card. They already took $15 from you for that so they are not going to waste it. In my case, VFS used the return label I sent them for my US passport. I had sent them a money order of $15 which they will use for my OCI card. Nothing is fixed. Since they are new, they keep changing their processes and systems.

Right. I believe you applied much earlier than I did. When I generated the shipping labels, it created 3 labels. 1 to send my application to VFS and the other 2 from VFS to me. So was confused why they didn't use one of the return labels to send the US passport. Anyway, I am glad I got my passport My passport had 2 stickers on the back(guess it's for their tracking). I removed them. My new US passport already looks like an old passport. LOL

That's bad. When VFS was the vendor earlier (Before CKGS), they were notorious for doing a bad job and I had read the same thing then. An applicant had even mentioned that their passport looked as if it has travelled around the world!

Yeah, well, there is only so much you can expect and so far it's not been a bad experience (talking about the renunciation and receiving my US passport back)
