  • Do I need OCI re-issue?

My US passport expired last year and once I got the new one I started the application for tranferring my OCI to the new passport. After completing steps A & B it noticed that it asks for a lot fo documentation as if I'm re-applying for OCI all over again!?! Is this actually correct or have I goofed somewhere?

I then proceeded to the NY Consulate General website which states the following:
    • OCI card holder who is 21 to 49 years of age, it is not mandatory to renew OCI card each time a new passport is obtained
Based on this it seems I'm ok not to apply for re-issue but wanted to check. Thanks in advance

Yes, if your age is between 21 and 49, then you don't need to do anything if you got a new passport.
