Online status updates

Does anybody know if the 'Documents Received at' field get updated in the online status page.

the online OCI status say that the documents were dispatched to the consulate on 07/23/2010 and It has not yet been received by the NY CGI.

Should I send the US passport + $20 mailing fee or just wait until the status gets update as 'Received by NY CGI'?

Just wanted to update this thread...
I was able to contact the CGINY and they advised that I send in the passport for OCI issuance and the Online status does not sometimes reflect the that the consulate has received the OCI from India.
