Is the lockdown in Delhi causing a slowdown for OCI applications? I'm applying on the basis of my mother. VFS process proceeded fine.
But my Date of Acknowledgment was April 2, 2021 and it is still under process.

It takes 4-6 weeks from ack date to process at Consulate.

From some fb forum that I follow, OCI cards have been printed in last week of April when lockdown was there.

Good - below is my timeline, it took me 3 full months from submitting the application to being acknowledged in the OCI Government website. We even had a video interview with the consulate here in Houston. I guess my case is taking longer because I am a spouse of foreign origin - but I hope to get the OCI in that 4-6 week timeline that people here have posted.

It felt like the video interview was like a go/nogo from the Indian consulate here before they passed on our application to the Indian Government to process my case. Hope we don't get notified of any new requirements from here. Fingers crossed!

Hi, So here's my timeline
Oci application send- 02/26/21
U.S. passport received- 03/09/21
Application on hold- 03/18/21 due to photos being rejected- send photos second time- got rejected again, send photos third time (this time got them from Walmart)- the whole process roughly took 20-25 days
Acknowledgement receipt date- 04/16/21
Documents printed- 06/02/21
Documents dispatched to San Francisco- 06/03/21
Oci received- 06/14/21

Here is my updated timeline (new adult OCI),

1. Application mailed: 04/21/21
2. Received at VFS: 04/22/21
3. "Under process" at VFS: 04/22/21
4. "In-transit" to consulate: 04/23/21
5: Date of Acknowledgment: 04/27/21
6. Document printed: 06/07/21
7. Dispatched from New Delhi: 06/08/21
8. Received at consulate: 06/15/21
9. Dispatched from VFS: 06/15/21
10. OCI received in hand: 06/16/21

So, it has taken exactly eight weeks from the date I had mailed the application to get the OCI in hand. Not bad.

My wife and myself submitted new OCI application at VFS center in San Francisco office, hand delivered all the application forms and supporting documents.

Trying to find out the timeline hopefully get OCI before June, my wife is traveling to India middle of June.

Another SFO data point (my timeline):

New OCI-Minor

Delivered to VFS: February 10
US Passport returned: Feb 25
OCI application submitted to SFO Consulate: March 6

No other updates since. Based on others' experiences hopefully I will hear something here soon.

Edit April 12. Based on this info the expected turn-around is now approaching 3 months.
