Hi,

My inquiry is about my attempt to apply for an India visa. I recently visited the India Embassy in Washington D.C. to submit my application for an India visa but was not even allowed to submit my application due to the fact that I was born in Pakistan. I was immediately turned away. I am a U.S. citizen and do not understand why I cannot submit my U.S. passport for a visa to India. Please advise at your earliest convenience as to how I can obtain an India visa if the India embassy will not accept my valid U.S. passport.
