Hi,
The passport picture is supposed to have white back ground or not a white back ground for OCI application? VFS says White and Gov app says no white. Can anybody help with this question please. I have pure white background and also light grey background pics.
Also can i apply for my minor child while applying for my OCI though i have renunciated my passport? or i should wait till my OCI?

Don't worry about that. They accept same photo as the US passport so you can get them at any place!

You can apply right away. You don't need to wait for your OCI.

Just received email from VFS, they rejected my photo - : PHYSICAL AND UPLOADED PHOTO MUST HAVE A CLEAR WHITE BACKGROUND. REFER TO THE WEBSITE FOR PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS AND SEND UPDATED FORM ALONG WITH PHYSICAL PHOTOS
The one I submitted was against white background (It was taken at home). From where should I get the picture taken for VFS satisfaction? Also will I need to upload this new picture again? I am thinking of going to Costco or CVS and ask them to email me digital copy.
Please advise if that will work.

Yes, Costco, Cvs or walgreens. CVS I know provides digital copies.

I never attempt to take these pictures at home especially for Indian authorities as they are very sensitive to specifications.

Atif, I also took photos at home. My wife application got accepted but mine is on hold because it has a shadow in background. Do we need to upload new photo on OCI website or just mail the printed application with new photo?

You have to upload new photo to the OCI website and send that printed form again. Make sure that the physical photo u send, matches with the new uploaded photo. Or else, they will reject again.

My Son's Photo was objected by India Office. so VFS/Consulate SF asked us to send the digital picture and Send them over via email. The digital picture and signature has been sent to them but it hasn't been uploaded yet in the government site. Does anybody have any experience of sending digital picture via email (Note: at this time we cannot upload both Photo, signature images due to the application is already in Delhi office).

Any thoughts ? appreciated..

After updating the new photo on the government website, did you have to reprint the government form, notarize it and send all 3 pages or did you only send them the first page with the updated photo (and signature)? Has anyone sent only the first page and have it be accepted?
