Hi,
My daughter was born in India when we immigrated to the US. We naturalized as US citizens recently. Basis that, we understand my daughter automatically derives her US citizenship, so we plan to apply and get her US passport.
Since India doesn't allow dual citizenship I have a few questions for the community:
1. Should we file for renounciation of her Indian citizenship. Is it advisable to do so?
2. If we don't file for renunciation of Indian citizenship, can she keep her Indian passport and use that to enter/exit India?
3. If she retains the Indian passport, will she still be considered an 'NRI' if she moves to India for her studies.
She is currently 8 years old.
Thanks in Advance,
