  • Queries about PIO Card

I have applied PIO Card for my kid at chicago. I was told that for Pickup it would be after Oct 14th & for mail it takes extra week. Is it normal that processing time is 4 to 5 weeks?. I saw a note in consulate that it takes just 7 working days. But, it is not true in reality?.

Unfortunately, I have my plans ready for my kid to travel on Oct 9th. Now in a tough situation.
Can I apply for India tourist visa for him besides PIO card processing?.
Does it takes more time for India tourist visa at chicago?.
Do I have to cancel PIO card processing if I have to apply tourist visa?.
In first place, is there a way to cancel PIO Card.?

Could some one please help me out to make my plans. Really appreciate your help.

    Thanks.

Persons of Indian heritage now have to apply for an Entry (sometimes called an 'X') visa, not a Tourist visa, which would likely take more time than permitting the PIO to complete processing. I think staying with PIO, and reworking your travel plans, is your best bet.
