Indian passport Renewal

I have to renew my Indian Passport in July at Washington Dc, would like to know if anyone has done it, and could suggest if Tatkal service to take or Regular..and should i start the process ` 1 or 2 months before..10yrs ago it was done in Chicago and that was going to embassy personaly and submitting the applications which was good...Tks for suggestions..

If you don't have any immediate travel, use the normal service which takes a max of 6 weeks (if police verification is needed). Right now, you can either go to VFS location of your jurisdiction or do it by courier which is very convenient ($30 roundtrip Fedex overnight - you just have to pay for it.
