  • Confused about OCI Fee payments/Courier Label and 30 day deadline

I was renewing my daughters OCI card as she got a new passport. Did the Part A and Part B and printed out the PDF application form about a month ago. I am now getting ready to mail it and I see
    1. The checklist requires you make a fee payment online and can also pay for the courier labels etc. I do not recall seeing this option at all when completing the process. How do I make the fee payment and pay for the courier service?
Web search points me to https://row1.vfsglobal.com/IHCUSPost...ionnaire/Index but I am confused about what option to pick here.
    2. Can I just include a cashiers check for $45 and a return UPS envelope if I can't figure out 1 above?
    3. Do I have to mail the application in exactly within 30 days of completing it? It has been more than 30 days. If I can not, do I have to redo the online process again and print a new application?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Its all online. You can't send your labels. Well, you can but I wouldn't recommend it

I believe you are doing the 20+ year OCI Reissue. You start at the Government site, then you go to the VFS site and enter the Indian Govt issued OCI ReIssue file number, create the account on VFS and then proceed. You are going to have to do a LOT of reading if you are asking what you just asked. Hopefully, you "uploaded" all the documents correctly on the Indian Govt. site.

If I were you, I would abandon/delete the current application (you get that choice on the Indian Govt. site) and start over and start after you get a good handle on the process and use VFS' FedEx labels to make your life a lot easier. Its $30 for two way shipping for you to send them the documents and then for them to ship you back the new OCI booklet and the old OCI booklet.

dvpatel Thank you for always patiently answering my questions. After reading your response it occurred to me that I had done only one half of the process. I had completely spaced out. I went and completed the second half and all is good now. Thanks again!
