OCI Minor - Mother's name

I am filling a new OCI application for my daughter. Should i use a) my maiden name or b) current name in the Mother's name field?

My daughter's birth certificate AND my renounced Indian passport has my maiden name. My valid US passport has my current name. I do have copy of approved name change petition as well.

- You are filling the application NOW, so you should use your current legal name.

- You want your daughter's the OCI card to have your current name. For ex: if you travel to India together, they might check that the minor child is with the parent or legal guardian. So it is important that the name on your US Passport, your OCI Card and the name of the mother on your Daughter's OCI Card match.

- Since the supporting documents show your maiden name, attach a copy of the name change petition along with a cover letter explaining the same. Not an issue, happens all the time.
