OCI card and BRITISH CITIZEN

Hi,

I am hoping you can help me with my query.

I am thinking of applying for an OCI card and i am a British citizen with a British passport. My concern is if i am in India and god forbid something should go wrong, whose jurisdiction would i fall under, would it be the Indian Embassy or the British Embassy.

I have tried looking at various websites for this answer but have had no joy. I hope you can help.

There is no Indian embassy in India.

While you are in India, you are subject to local Indian laws, whether you are Indian citizen, tourist or OCI holder.

What i should have said was that if you are in trouble, would it be the Indian or the British consular that would come to your assistance?
