I am an US citizen and an Overseas citizen of India. My US Visa expired and the U VISA sticker is in the expired passport. According
to the following information available for OCI in the Consulate web, I may be permitted to travel to India carrying the expired US passport with the U Visa sticker + the renewed US passport and the OCI card. I request you to kindly advise me whether I will be permitted to travel to India using these three documents.

From the Indian Consulate Web - Instruction for OCI:

"When travelling to India, please carry our OCI card, your US passport with the 'U' (lifelong) visa sticker and your valid American passport (if they are different or the former has expired, then both passports are to be carried)."]

I am grateful to you for your immediate response. Kindly bear with me for asking one more clarification. The link provided by you has this information:

3. OCI registration certificate and visa have got to be re-issued by availing this service,each time a new passport is issued up to the completion of 20 years of age and onceafter completing 50 years of age.

I applied and received the OCI U Visa at the age of 70 years, 20 years after completing 50 years. Since my U Visa was issued for the first time after I completed 50 years.should it be reissued? It takes more than 3 months to get the U Visa reissued and I have pressing engagements in India to attend. If it is possible I would prefer to travel to India now with the U Visa in the expired US passport and immediately upon my return I will apply for re issuance. I request you to kindly advice me.

By law, you would need to get it transferred to new passport.

If you don't do that, you would be just taking chances.
