OCI ack on 10/15..no other updates, going to india soon..

Okay,

so I'm in a little time crunch...I'm leaving for India on 12/14. I have not heard any other updates in regards to my OCI. The acknowledgement was dont on 10/15, but nothing after that.

How do I contact the Chicago consulate? I tried all their regular numbers, but no luck. This is driving me crazy. I dont want to get tourist visa and spend more money.

any help is appreciated.

oh and of course they cashed my checks on 10/25.

Apply for Entry Visa

Kindly apply for six month Entry Visa.

The Chicago consulate is basically stuck. They have not done any Scanning since Nov 2 and Granting since Nov 9.

The last file which was scanned and granted is USAC01390510. Play with this number forward and backward to get a better picture of the functioning of the OCI cell of Chicago consulate - e.g. below

USAC01390610, USAC01390710, etc.. going forward
USAC01390410, USAC01390310, etc.. going backward

It takes 5 business days to get the entry visa. The earlier the better.

Even if your OCI gets scanned and granted this week by the Chicago consulate, it takes 10-15 days to print, despatch and receipt of the OCI from Delhi to Chicago consulate.

Keep monitoring the numbers going forward this week. If no progress on scanning and granting, kindly apply the entry visa by next week.

I JUST WENT FORWARD WITH THE NUMBERS AND FOUND THEY HAVE JUMPED QUITE A BIT. YOUR FILE AND OTHERS AROUND YOUR DATE OF ACKNOWLEDGMENT HAVE BEEN LEFT BEHIND. WRITE A STRONG LETTER TO THE CONSUL GENERAL FOR THIS OUT OF TURN GRANTING AND A HUGE BUNCH OF FILE LEFT BEHIND.

Well it seems that they went from 14310 straight to 22210. Mine happens to be 20710. So they skipped 79 files.

Dont know what's going on. This blows.
