OCI updation for address change

Is it required to update OCI card with latest passport and change of address?

I know one is required to provide details of new passport if it is issued after 50 years of age, but I am not in that boat yet.

I renewed my passport few months ago and I also moved, so I am wondering if need to update passport/address information on OCI website using their gratis service. If anyone has experience with this, please let me know.

I updated all of ours and intend to do so every 10 years. You no longer need an OCI re-issuance after turning 50 but you do if your OCI was issued before you were 20 years old. I updated my wife and son (below 20) and myself via the free service. My daughter is over 20 now so that was a re-issuance.

For my parents, it was a mere 3 weeks. For us, it took just shy of 8 weeks.
