My Husband's OCI application was returned today because they think my husband has changed his name. My husband has never changed his name in the first place.
My husband's middle name has been omitted in his US passport, is expanded in his Indian passport, has been put as an initial in his naturalization certificate.
For example: Husband's full name: MMM (first name/given name) CCC (middle name) NNN (family name/surname).
In the US passport the middle name has been completely omitted. His name in the US passport is MMM (given name) NNN (surname).
In the surrendered Indian passport, his name is MMM CCC (given names) and NNN (surname).
In the naturalization certificate, his name is written as MMM C. NNN.
They now want me to attach documents like the notarized affidavit and name change advertisement in an Indian and US newspaper.
I am totally lost because my husband has not changed his name and i don't know if the notarized affidavit and the ads are really required. What should i do? Kindly help.
