  • OCI for Minor with one parent having expired Indian passport

    Dear All,
I am applying for PIO to OCI conversion for my minor son who has US passport. Both me and my wife have Indian passport and we all reside in India. I have applied Online for the OCI process, and now have received an in-person appointment from FRRO for the submission of hard copies. Meanwhile, my wife's Indian passport has expired and she has submitted application for renewal. It is taking time. Kindly let me know if I can visit the FRRO office with old passport of my wife and can this be considered by authorities while issuing OCI for my son. Appreciate any information from anyone quickly. Thanks

Why not? Indians living in India don't need a valid passport unless he/she is traveling abroad. Give it a try. Worst case, they are going to ask you to come back when she gets the new passport.
