Validity of US passport while traveling to India with an OCI

I have a question regarding traveling to India with a US passport and OCI.

I am traveling to India on June 27th with my 11 year old daughter who is a US citizen. My daughter also has a valid OCI. My daughter has a valid US passport, but it's expiring on November 20th.

Can she travel to India on June 27th?

Basically, her US passport is valid for another 4-1/2 months at the time of travel and she has a valid OCI card. However, I am reading conflicting information online whether she can travel to India. Some places are saying that she needs a 6 months valid US passport at the time of travel. However, some other places are saying that since she has OCI she can travel with a valid US passport (even though it's expiring in 4-1/2 months).

Could you please answer the question whether she can travel to India on June 27th?

Get her passport renewed. A 6-month validity is standard for travel. I'm not sure where it says 4.5 months. If you plan to travel with the current passport for her, you should keep the proof for 4.5 month rule to show it to the airline check-in agent. He said, she said and I heard doesn't work in these situations.
