Indian passport renewal in US: address question

Hi,

I'm a resident of the US. I've renewed my passport in New York once before. The address is my old US address and not my Indian permanent address. I need to renew my passport again now.

When I submit for renewal, if I put my new US address in the printed address section, and my Indian address in the "other address" section, will a police verification in India be needed?

It is a renewal in the US; there is no police verification for these.
