I had applied for the passport last year in March. For almost six months a message kept on flashing that the police report is clear and the application is under process. Subsequently a changed message started flashing that though the passport of initially issued, but a discrepancy has been found. When I met the PRO, he told me that another entry already exists in my name, but I didn't happen to remember it.
After I told this to my mother, she remembered that a passport was issued in my name when I was 8 years old. Subsequently, I was able to locate it and got to know that it had expired in 2005 itself.
Now, I am not sure as to what am I supposed to do to get the new passport. I would be really obliged if someone can guide me in this regard.
