OCI application forms processing...need passport for traveling

To whom it may concern,

Im a British passport holder and im applying for a OCI residency. Please can you confirm weather i have to submit my british passport along with the application? Reason being i might be going away for a few days while the application is getting processed,and i be needing the passport for traveling.

Please can you get back to me soon as possible. Also can you provide me with a phone number so i can contact someone if I need to ask any questions.

This varies by the consulate.

In US, you ahve to submit the passport along with the application. We are not aware of UK procedure.
